The Role

This is a Business Development position, reporting to the Clinical Director with a broad remit, high levels of responsibility and autonomy. Patient Connect is a venture capital backed, rapidly growing, company optimising patient care across Europe and America. We are looking for someone with experience of selling services into the pharmaceutical sector, to join and help spread the vision and grow the business.

The main purpose of the role will be to deliver a strong and risk-managed/balanced pipeline of sales through both own existing relationships and lead development in the pharmaceutical company client base. This will require finding new leads, both the creation and delivery of effective sales propositions, crafting proposals to meet client needs and navigating Pan-European and local stakeholders.

The role joins a small and senior business development team and is expected to deliver immediate commercial benefit, for example through customer education about the role of the pharmacist, objection handling, navigating client budget allocation through supplier accreditation, to close, so a sense of urgency and maintaining pace in selling relationships is key. In return, you will receive a competitive salary and commission.

We are looking for candidates who are fluent in both English and at least one other European language, German, Spanish or French.

Job Function

  • Business development and sales through own leads and cold prospecting;

Knowledge, skills and behaviours

  • Experience of working with, or in, the pharmaceutical services sector;
  • Pre-existing personal relationships with pharmaceutical company marketing, or clinical personnel, is a plus;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are a must;
  • An enthusiastic self-starter, who can generate leads, effectively obtain client/prospect meetings, develop strong proposals, gain client trust and drive contract proposals through to successful closure;
  • Drive for achievement and background of quantifiable sales and account management accomplishment;
  • Customer focused with strong internal and external stakeholder communication, networking and negotiation abilities;
  • Analytical skills including the ability to produce and interpret data;
  • Registered pharmacists with demonstrable selling abilities are welcome to apply;
  • Fluent English and one other European language, German, French or Spanish;
  • Effective presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills with a strong team-oriented approach;
  • Impeccable output standards;
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and projects.

The position is based in Guildford, Surrey near to London.
